Colour Pop Cosmetics Review

, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

If you haven’t seen or been part of the media blitz surrounding Colour Pop Cosmetics, I urge you to immediately check out their website after reading this!

Back in March, I was sent a box of 5 of their shadows and one of their signature “lippie stix.” The colors were mostly very dark grays, blues and things that I wouldn’t normally wear (certainly not to the office) and the lipstick I was sent was a bright fuschia- very Barbie pink and another color I wouldn’t wear on a daily basis. However, the smooth, creamy consistency of the lipstick caught my attention and I started perusing their website. I placed my first order in April, then a second then a third. After testing out the products for  a while I wanted to share some thoughts. *Photos courtesy of Colour Pop*

  • The Price. Most items are $5, $6 or $8
  • Pigmentation of the eye shadows and lippie stix are amazing
  • Most lippie sticks have a 100% matching lipliner, which I love
  • Their social media interaction with customers is great & they are pretty active on both Twitter & IG
  • Join their mailing list and receive a $5.00 coupon towards your first order

  • The company takes 3-5 days to process your order then another 3-5 days to ship. So be patient and wait around 10 days to receive your order.
  • A few people have been complaining about the smell of the lippie stix, but it does not bother me whatsoever.
  • I found that even with a lip liner underneath, the lippie stix are not very long lasting. I found myself reapplying several times throughout the day.
  • I am not totally crazy about the screw off tops for the blush, eye shadows and bronzers, I prefer a compact style (at least for the cheek products). I feel it gives you a cleaner look and you don’t see when the product starts to wear down.

I also ordered two pieces from their “Rumer Has It” collection, created in correlation with Rumer Willis and some of the looks she wore on “Dancing With The Stars.” I bought her “Pinch” and “Addict” Lippie Stix & her “Intoxicate” eyeshadow, both of which I absolutely love. As you can see from the photos below of what I purchased, I tend to go for the nude and nude/pink colors and I love all the ones I have purchased thus far. My next purchase is going to be a couple of their blushes and bronzers….can’t wait to try them as well!

I definitely recommend this brand because the products are great to mix with whatever you already are using and the range of colors is truly a rainbow of options! Enjoy the rest of your week! ~xo, love~

240fe7950e183d49d63a8be87ce2f132Happy Spring and happy May friends! We are back at it over here at love and labels after a little time off and we are talking major Spring essentials today!

Am I the only one obsessed with wearing maxi dresses? Honestly, I don’t understand how people in Miami can wear jeans in April/May (ha-ha)- we are already having some days when it is so sticky and humid that I cannot bare to be so covered up! My fav staple is a maxi dress because I can throw on a blazer to wear one to the office, pair it with casual flats for a weekend shopping trip, or dress it up with heels/wedges for a night out. Whether strapless, tunic style or spaghetti strapped, there are millions of colors and patterns to choose from. Definitely a great way to spruce up your Spring wardrobe! Below are some of my must have picks for Spring!

Revolve Clothing always has great brands & great sales so I am always checking out their dress & sale page to see what’s new. I always find great 6 Shore Road, Young, Fabulous & Broke and Indah pieces on that site. The top 3 are from that site!

I always love shopping at b/c of the free shipping and returns and that mango maxi below by Lush is on sale for $38.00! Too cute especially with a great tan. I also love scoring Lush brand maxis at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s….. definitely wallet friendly!

Soleil Blue is another site to definitely bookmark! They carry Spell, Stone Cold Fox, Jen’s Pirate Booty & more awesome brands from the U.S. & overseas.

Would love to hear some of your favs for Spring!

Have a great weekend! ~xo, love~

Highlighters and Luminizers

I’ve never really been in to highlighters, but now that the holidays are over & my fabulous dark JLo tan has faded into a light bronze, I’ve been playing around with self tanners and highlighters more than ever. Below are a few highlighters that I found on Polyvore that sounded fun! I tried the NYX one and it was a little too shimmery/shiny for my taste, but I absolutely loved the Laura Geller one! Previously, I had only tried her makeup primer, so I wasn’t sure how her powders would go on. The baked highlighters was perfect for just a little daytime/work appropriate highlighting and with a heavier hand, it was awesome for evening. It almost gives you a candle-lit glow!

Would love to hear about any highlighters that you are loving…. Have a great week loves and I hope everyone’s new year is off to a great start! ~xo, love~

Kimono Krazy

LOGO22While most of the country is buried under the “polar vortex,” all I can think about is Spring! I’m dreaming of lounging at my pool, basking in the sun, traveling to the West Coast and breezy maxi dresses. One of my favorite pieces of Spring gear is the kimono. It can instantly spice up a blah outfit, and you can throw it on over everything from jeans to shorts, a bikini, or even a simple  dress. The boutique Soleil Blue sells a lot of my favorite ones, I especially love the sheer chiffon fabrics & pastel colors.

All items below available on Photos courtesy of Soleil Blue.

Also, while this isn’t a kimono, I am completely obsessed with this Acacia dress below also from Soleil Blue. It is available in 5 different colors and this mango color is absolutely amazing….. paired with a chunky faux diamond necklace like this little $20.00 steal from Forever 21, it is absolute Spring perfection! ~xo~

silverandgoldThis year I found myself invited a little holiday gatherings here and there and those can always be stressful, especially if the host or hostess is someone you don’t know very well. Well today I’ve got some great holiday hostess gift ideas for home & body featuring some goodies from Voluspa, Skin & Co. Roma & more!

I was excited to try the new Umbrian Truffle body line from one of my fav brands, Skin & Co. Roma. Their new ultra-rich Truffle Body Oil is amazingly hydrating and the best part is that it comes in a convenient spray bottle. Definitely the perfect apres-shower luxury! I also love how on each bottle they tell you what’s in the product and what’s not. In this case:

What’s In It? Organic Sunflower Oil, Truffle Extract
What’s Not? Sulfates, Parabens, Mineral Oils, Phtalates, Petrolatum, Paraffin.

They also have a Winter Wonderland gift collection that ranges from $25 and under to $100. These are truly great gifts for the beauty lover in your life because they get a try a little of everything! In addition to being available for purchase on their website, Skin & Co Roma products are available at select Look Boutiques inside Duane Reade & Walgreen’s locations nationwide.

Voluspa provides the perfect hostess gift and they have a scent to please any palette! From floral to fruity and mild to musk, their candles and home oils can make any home smell like a holiday wonderland. Z Gallerie is also one of my go-to spots for hostess gifts. Whether you’re in the market for silver frames, crystal bar ware or decorative items, they have a wide range of gifts to choose from at every price point. I may or may not have purchased those champagne flutes for myself..but ssshh, don’t tell Santa!

Coming up next I’ve got an amazing review of Japanese skin care line, Tatcha. Happy holiday shopping loves! ~xo, love~

Tis The Season For Being Charitable

a5093105447c89c5261db50658facc84Happy November everyone! I don’t know about you but I am officially in full holiday mode. I decided not to fight it this year….even though it’s not quite Thanksgiving yet, I’ve embraced the holiday music on the radio, smiled when I saw holiday decor in the stores, and even indulged in a little Gingerbread Latte fun yesterday at Starbucks.

While I love all the things I just mentioned, one of my other favorite things about the holidays is the charitable giving. People love to open their hearts and their wallets for amazing causes all over & it really warms my heart to see such generosity.

While I have been living in the sunny sands of Miami for quite some time, I grew up in Pennsylvania & attended college in Philadelphia. I love keeping up with Philadelphia brands like Suburban Square & fab bloggers like Kate Concannon on Twitter & Pinterest, so I was thrilled to receive a lovely e-mail from the public relations gals at Philly PR Girl sharing an amazing charity event with me.

Per the official event press release, provided by Philly PR Girl:

uyThe Delaware Valley Legacy Fund (DVLF) is excited to announce that its 8th Annual TOY event will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Fire & Ice. TOY is DVLF’s annual holiday fundraising event that raises money to support organizations serving the LGBTQ community while providing toys to benefit local children in need. Every year more than 400 guests come together at the best LGBTQ fundraiser in the city, as voted by Philadelphia Gay News three years in a row.

Guests can enjoy a night of dancing, light bites and charity-filled fun with one ticket purchase and one unwrapped toy donation. Proceeds from the event will support DVLF’s mission of meeting the emerging needs of the LGBTQ community. As in years past, the community additionally aims to make the holidays a little brighter for the area’s bravest children with the donated toys to benefit patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and children served by ActionAIDS.

Tickets are now on sale for $75 in advance or $95 at the door. For more information, please visit To receive the latest updates, follow along on Twitter and on Facebook.

So if you’re in Philly, please check out this amazing event for an amazing cause, because when you do something good during the holidays, something good is sure to happen to you.. it’s the circle of charitable giving! :-)

Coming up next on love and labels, I can’t wait to share an amazing holiday gift guide & some great discount codes to help with the holiday shopping. Have a great week everyone! ~xo, love~
